Hard hit: This means the attack in question has a blow that causes double damage or if you have the correct Weapon Upgrade then you can chop the creature in to pieces.
Defensive: This means that it is less likely for this combo to be interupted by a monster attacking you.
Chop up: One of the best functions in Nightmare Creatures, this means that the combo will chop the enemy into pieces if executed correctly.
Break Defense: Because of the contrasting locations/nature of the blows in this combo enemies are unable to block it. They may block the first part but will then be surprised by the following sections.
Multiple hits: This combo does an excessive amount of hits upon the enemy raining blows at all possible locations and at every possible moment.
Complicated: Combos noted as being complicated are very difficult to do, perhaps because of the locations of the buttons/keys or via a fault in the programming it is most often unsuccesfully executed.

* There appears to be a slight problem in the controls of the PC and PSX versions of Nightmare Creatures where sometimes the initial Strike command by Nadia was not recognised, as such it may be found easier to treat any of Nadia's combos that begin with a Strike to have a Up Arrow + before the first strike of the combo.
